Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
The 2011 Oliver's Blend is a beautiful continuation of the lineage of this label. Every year we look at many individual lots from our dynamic half bowl vineyard to create a distinctive blend that showcases each vintage at Skipstone. We typical start with a blend of many individual Cabernets to create the core foundation of the wine. We then add elements from our Merlot and Cabernet Franc blocks to embellish the foundation Cabernet. The resulting wine is a fully layered and complex blend that really shows the incredible capability of the small estate vineyard.

Winemaker Notes
The 2011 harkens back to our first couple vintages of Oliver's Blend. The complexity of the blend is outstanding - seamlessly marrying elements of ripe, dark fruit, minerality, with floral and smoke. It is an incredibly complex wine that starts with a seductive nose of roses, tobacco, and ash. On the palate, deep ripe fruit is mouthfilling and endless with a finish that gives a nod to the old world with an attractive gravel, dust minerality. Composition: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc
