Wine Profile

Tasting Notes Debuted with the 2010 vintage, this exceptional new bottling from Skipstone beautifully demonstrates the unmatched potential that our estate vineyard offers in blending for complexity and showcases the quality of our other Bordeaux varietals. The 2012 Faultline Vineyard highlights our amazing Cabernet Franc component with the blend being 95% CF and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alluring and seductive aromatics of deep red fruit and preserves with dusty minerality and hints of rose petal draw you in - classic Cabernet Franc from Skipstone. The body is balanced by well-integrated tannins, great vivacity and ripe fruit characteristics that are ever present midpalate. The texture is smooth and feminine showing the elegance of our Cabernet Franc. This wine is focused and fresh and shows good potential for aging, while being extremely pleasurable in its youth.
Vineyard Notes The Faultline Vineyard is perfectly situated on the floor of our 28 acre amphitheater shaped vineyard. These blocks lie directly on top of the Mayacama faultline that runs right through the middle of the vineyard and has given the site its unique shape and incredible soil diversity. The younger vines growing here benefit from a variety of soil types and different levels of stress and are thus demonstrating complexity well beyond their youth.
